Omenote Support & FAQ
Answers to common questions about the Omenote daily quotes and reflection app — and a real person behind the inbox.
The daily message
How does the Omenote daily message work?
Each calendar day, Omenote chooses one message for you and shows it as a face-down card. Turn the card when you're ready and read it. The message is selected once and kept, so it stays the same all day — closing or restarting the app never reshuffles it. A new message becomes available when the date changes on your device.
Do I get a new message every time I reopen Omenote?
No, and that's deliberate. Omenote is one message per day, not a feed to scroll. Reopening the app shows the same message at rest; the next one arrives with the next day. If you want a second message for something specific, that's what Ask for a Sign is for.
Are the messages quotes, or written by Omenote?
Both. Most of Omenote's catalog is short quotations from writers, thinkers, and other well-known people, always shown with their author. The rest are original messages written for Omenote, and many of those come with a small reflection prompt. Messages gather around themes such as love, intuition, change, courage, letting go, purpose, patience, healing, truth, and new beginnings.
Does Omenote personalize the messages?
Gently. During setup, and any time later in Profile → Themes on your mind, you can choose themes that feel true right now: love, change, direction, healing, confidence, letting go, purpose, and new beginnings. Your choices shape which messages are more likely to find you, but they never decide it — a message can still arrive unexpectedly. This happens entirely on your device. There is no profile of you anywhere else, and no AI or machine learning involved.
Does Omenote work offline?
Yes. The whole catalog ships inside the app, and your journal and saved messages are stored on your device, so the daily message, Ask for a Sign, and journaling all work without an internet connection. The only things that need a connection are App Store actions such as subscribing to or restoring Omenote Plus, and links that open a web page.
Ask for a Sign
What is Ask for a Sign?
A separate small ritual for the moments when something is on your mind. Hold a question, person, or decision in mind — you don't have to type it — choose one of three face-down cards, and turn it to receive a message. The message is drawn from the same catalog of quotes and original messages; its purpose is to give you a new angle on what you're carrying. You can save it, share it, or write a reflection just like a daily message.
Does Ask for a Sign predict the future?
No. Omenote does not predict the future, and no message is a factual answer to your question. A sign is a prompt for reflection: you bring the question, the card brings a message, and the meaning comes from what it brings to mind for you. Omenote's messages are not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.
Is Ask for a Sign a tarot reading?
No. The presentation is tarot-inspired — face-down cards, a moment of choosing, a turn — but there is no tarot deck, no spreads, and no reading. The cards carry Omenote's quotes and original messages, and the experience is about reflection rather than divination.
How many signs can I ask for?
The free app includes three signs per rolling seven days, which is meant as pacing for the ritual rather than a paywall. Omenote Plus removes the limit. The daily message is never affected by how many signs you've used.
Journal & reflections
Can I write a reflection in Omenote?
Yes. Tap Reflect on any revealed message, daily or sign, and write what it brought up for you. The message stays visible above your words, and the entry is kept together with it in the Journal tab, where you can reread, edit, or delete it later. The journal is built around Omenote's messages: each reflection belongs to a message, so it's a small reflection journal rather than a general-purpose notes app.
Where are my journal entries stored?
Only on your iPhone or iPad, in a local database inside the app. Omenote has no accounts, no cloud, and no servers, so there is no second copy anywhere. Your reflections are never uploaded, synced, analyzed, or read by anyone — including the developer.
Can Omenote read my journal?
No. Nothing you write leaves your device. The app makes no network requests of its own, so there is no way for your reflections to reach the developer or anyone else.
Does Omenote sync my journal between devices?
No. There is no sync, so a journal written on your iPhone stays on that iPhone. If optional sync is ever added, it will be opt-in and explained in the Privacy Policy first.
Can I move my journal to a new iPhone?
Yes, through Apple's own tools. Omenote's data is part of your normal device backup, so an iCloud backup, an encrypted computer backup, or Apple's direct iPhone-to-iPhone transfer carries your journal, saved messages, and history to the new device. Omenote itself cannot restore anything, because it never had a copy.
Is the journal free?
Writing reflections is free and unlimited. The free app shows your 30 most recent reflections; older ones are never deleted and become visible again with Omenote Plus, which also lets you export your journal and saved messages as a PDF.
Privacy
Does Omenote require an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for and no login. You download the app and start. Omenote Plus is tied to your Apple Account through the App Store, not to any Omenote account.
Does Omenote track me or use analytics?
No. Omenote contains no analytics or tracking SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party code. It does not record which messages you read, what you save, or what you write. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected.”
Does Omenote contain ads?
No. Omenote is free to use with an optional Omenote Plus subscription, and that is its only source of income. There are no ads and no advertising partners.
Does Omenote have servers or upload my activity?
Omenote has no backend servers, and the app never contacts one. Your preferences, daily message history, saved messages, journal, and sign usage are all stored on your device. The only network activity is Apple's: App Store purchases and subscription checks go through Apple's StoreKit, and if you choose to email support, that goes through your own mail app.
What about this website?
omenoteapp.com is a small static site with no analytics, no cookies, no third-party scripts, and no external fonts. The hosting provider may keep ordinary server logs, as any web host does. Nothing on this site tracks you.
Notifications
Can I choose when my daily notification arrives?
Yes. Notifications are optional. In Profile → Notifications you can turn them on or off and pick the time of day. Omenote sends at most one note a day — it never reminds you twice and never nudges you for missing a day.
Can the notification show the day's message?
Yes. You can choose what the notification carries: a quiet reminder that your message is waiting, or the message itself. Both are prepared on your device.
Are Omenote notifications sent from a server?
No. Omenote schedules its notifications locally using Apple's notification system on your device. Nothing is sent to or from an Omenote server, because there isn't one. If your device's notification permission is off, you can allow Omenote in iOS Settings → Notifications.
Omenote Plus
What does Omenote Plus include?
Unlimited signs, your whole journal (instead of the 30 most recent reflections), unlimited saved messages, PDF export of your saved messages and journal, and a choice of message typefaces. It's an auto-renewing subscription at $0.99 per month or $9.99 per year; prices vary by region and are shown in the App Store before you buy. Plus changes what the app can do, not the messages themselves — and it's also simply a way to support a solo developer.
Is the daily message free?
Yes. The daily message, Ask for a Sign (three per week), saving, sharing, and journaling are all part of the free app. The daily message is free and stays free, with or without Plus.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or use the Manage subscription button inside Omenote. Canceling keeps Plus until the end of the paid period. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I paid on another device — how do I restore Plus?
Open Profile → Restore purchases while signed into the same Apple Account you used to subscribe. Restoring needs an internet connection.
How are purchases processed?
Entirely by Apple, through your Apple Account and the App Store. Omenote never sees or stores your payment details, and there is no Omenote account involved.
Devices & availability
Which devices does Omenote run on?
Omenote is designed for iPhone and iPad and requires iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 or later. The App Store also lets Macs with Apple silicon and Apple Vision Pro install it through Apple's compatibility mode, but the app is designed and tested for iPhone and iPad. There is no Android or web version. The app is currently in English.
Where can I download Omenote?
From the App Store, where it's listed as “Omenote – Daily Quotes” by Stefan Dasic: Download Omenote on the App Store. It's free, with an optional Omenote Plus subscription.
Deleting your data
What happens to my journal if I delete the app?
Because everything is stored locally, deleting Omenote deletes your journal, saved messages, history, and settings from that device. There is no copy anywhere else, so there's nothing to ask us to delete — and nothing we could restore. If you're switching devices, move your data with a device backup or transfer first (see Can I move my journal to a new iPhone?).
Can I delete individual reflections or saved messages?
Yes. Touch and hold a reflection in the Journal to delete it, and unsave a message from the Saved tab or from the message itself. Deletion is immediate and local.
Still stuck — or just want to say hello?
Omenote is made by one person, and every email lands directly with me. I read all of them.
